At the time of writing, i purchased this tablet for £70.
Had it out of the box now for one hour, and felt compelled to share my wonderment at such a fantastic device.
Been a long time admirer of Tablets, however i really could not justify and / or afford the money for one, until now....
There is a saying 'you get what you pay for', well friends, in my opinion, with this you get MORE than you pay for!!! What a device, i honestly cannot see me ever wanting to spend £400 on an ipad when this ticks all the boxes! It does everything i need it to.
Ok so on with some details that matter.
7" screen - Very nice, clear, and overall very portable. I was dubious at first, and thought it may be too small, as i have 'played' with an ipad on several occasions and loved the screen. The overall device is slightly larger than a dvd case, the screen itself is slightly smaller. Size really doesn't matter, the 7" screen is perfect, website text is readable and selectable when in standard un-zoomed mode.
Although the screen it not HD - Colours and details are displayed very well.
Touchscreen - Capacitive touchscreen, with no problems whatsoever. Finger movements are tracked very well and no missed selections as yet!
Android Software - Latest software is marvelous - Slight lag at times, but only because i was downloading apps whist installing others, and using the tablet to play with some of the features - Overall it's actually rather polished and works very well.
If you already have an android phone, then you will be familiar with the setup. Homescreen can be customized to include widgets, app shortcuts, etc.
Auto-rotate works well, and so far the g-sensor has worked as it should.
Applications - So far downloaded a raft of applications which really work well - Ebay, Amazon, Paypal, Groupon, Sky+, iPlayer, Angry Birds, Autotrader, Imdb, Kindle - Iplayer streamed straight away with no buffering - Video quality was a little grainy, but again it's not HD and it is more than acceptable.
Comes pre-loaded with items like Facebook, you tube, G-mail.
no problems with syncing - Logged in to G-mail, and email, calenders etc were all updated really quickly.
Installed browser is good, and tablet works well with google voice search - Again everything you would come to expect from android software.
Camera: On a small front facing camera, probably perfect for Skype, but of no use to take photos with (0.3mps)
WI-FI: scanned for wireless networks, picked up and connected without incident, just as fast as my imac.
Speakers: Whilst not the best quality in the world (hey it's not beats by Dr Dre) they are plenty LOUD - Can be tinny when up at full volume - However more than acceptable - I'd say good.
Size and weight: Feels great in hand, nice weight to it, as for size, well said it already, 7" is a decent size. Very portable.
Connections: Haven't tested the USB and HDMI as yet - but they are there ready for testing tomorrow.
Overall - 5 STARS - Great device which packs a punch. Looks good, plays good and really for the money you couldn't go wrong.
